The San Francisco World Spirit Competition is generally accepted to be the most influential spirit judging event in the world and is considered to be the Stanley Cup or Oscars of spirit competitions. There were over 5500 entries in 2024.

As a finalist for ‘Best in Class’, our Newfoundland Whisky also earned a Double Gold Medal – one of only 12 awarded in across the whole of Canada and the only one in Atlantic Canada. The winner of ‘Best in Class’, will be announced in October 2024.

The Newfoundland Distillery Company is absolutely delighted and thrilled to be nominated for ‘Best in Class’, for the first time with 97 points from 70 judges and a Double Gold Medal. We are now very proud recipients of three Double Gold Medals, the first for our Seaweed Gin in 2018, the second for Seaweed Gin Tom Collins RTD in 2022 and now for our Newfoundland Whisky in 2024.
